Last night 20+ WKers rode for 22km in a super windy Spring night, made a round trip from our office to the bund.

昨夜，我们一行20多人，迎着春日夜晚的寒风，浩浩荡荡地骑行了22公里，在公司和外滩之间画了个圈。

This is not the first time we do the W+K night ride (#wknr), but this time is a bit special as we’re sending off our lovely fixie girl Angie to her new adventure to UK. Like she quote what Keng said, “It’s time to move on, and come back with good shit.”

这不是我们W+K上海的第一次夜骑了，但这一次是特别为我们的死飞女神Angie践行，祝愿她的英伦求学之旅顺利成功！就像她引用Keng说的，“离开是为了更好地回来。”

Staff portraits have been a standing tradition of all Wieden + Kennedy offices around the world, the Shanghai office particularly is known for experimenting with this idea by asking staff members to use the narrative of another colleague and interpret it as a portrait. The results of these portraits are now a highlight of the Wieden + Kennedy office in Shanghai.

在世界各地的W+K办公室里都有为制作同事肖像的传统。W+K上海曾经试验性地邀请同事们为自己的工作伙伴互相创作肖像。这样的创作既捕捉了创作对象的特质，也表现了创作者独特的风格。而这些形式各异的肖像也成了办公室里一道亮眼的风景。

For the next set of portraits W+K Shanghai has partnered with the photographer Robert Nilsson, his goal is to shoot 100 Wieden + Kennedy Shanghai staff portraits in 2 days with Polaroid film, then challenge each individual to make a creative statement with their portrait. The exhibition aims to highlight the feeling of instant film in the digital era with just one exposure, one artwork, on one square film.

这一次Robert Nilsson计划在两天时间里位W+K上海的100名员工拍摄肖像。然后再让照片的主人在相纸上留下自己特别的印记。作品及展览仅借由一次曝光、一笔涂鸦、一方相纸，让人在这个数码时代体会即影即有的乐趣。

Robert sourced the film directly from The Impossible Project, a company founded by former Polaroid employees who shared a passion for keeping perfectly functioning Polaroid cameras from becoming obsolete. The Impossible Project saved the last Polaroid production plant for integral instant film and started to invent and produce totally new instant film materials for traditional Polaroid cameras.

Robert这次所用的相纸都来自“不可能计划”(The Impossible Project)。这是一家由前宝丽来员工建立的公司，致力于拯救那些还能正常运作的宝丽来相机，使之免受因为没有可匹配的相纸而遭淘汰的命运。“不可能计划”计划保留了最后一个宝丽来整合式立即显影底片的生产工厂，并开始研发生产全新的，能为传统宝丽来相机所使用的即影即有相纸。

W+K+SPACE 新展览！《发酵·Fermentation》是由插画艺术家Shadow Chen和W+K+成员之一，Goooodie创始人咖小西共同创作的拼贴作品。Shadow把咖式影像放大、镜像、重塑以及大量重复，照片里记录的青春在这个过程中发酵，既是二位创作人对青春的各自诠释，整幅作品也在启发每一个观者，去重新寻找和理解属于自己的青春的含义。本周五（3月15日）晚7:30开幕，展览将持续至三月底。W+K+SPACE 位于长乐路1035号底楼，靠近乌鲁木齐路。

发酵·Fermentation

Sometimes things need to be magnified, catalyzed, and fermented before they can be clearly seen. So it is with YOUTH. It is all at once crazy, reckless, and mighty, yet full of inspiration and desire. Noticed or not, youth is in fact quietly alive in every life, and no matter how old we grow, youth is - and always will be - fermenting inside us.

Youth can be seen as appetite, color, and spice. We all use different methods to seek it, understand it, and accept it. And although we end-up arriving at the same truth again and again, we feel closer to it each time we reach out for it.

有些问题需要被放大，催化，发酵才能看明白，青春也是这个样子，它如此疯狂，鲁莽，不屑，同时也充满着灵感和欲望，在被放大之前，它其实一直默默地存在在每个生命里，无论我们怎么长大，怎么衰老，它都还是一样在作用着我们。

青春可以被理解为欲望，色彩和香料，我们用各种方式寻找它，理解它，接受它，每次都会得到同一个道理，但每次都会感觉更加地明白它。

As part of our open office initiative, we have collaborated with open office (W+K+) resident, Casetagram to create a range of phone covers.

“We’re glad to be among the first group of artists producing works.  We love what Casetagram are doing, so it was great for people here to be able to use their product as a canvas to express themselves.”

The collaboration is a continuing effort with more designs being added to the collection in the coming months. The first 11 covers are available now.

Besides attending the exhibition, we also visit W+K office at Tokyo. This cool little house is similar to the old Shanghai office; the wall displays all the awesome creative works. I guess this is the unique W+K global culture.
在 W+K 東京辦公室搬家之前我們去看看位於六本木量產創意達10年的基地，他们即将搬到Nakameguro. After ten years of Roppongi, they will soon move to Nakameguro.

在南青山的路上竟然偶遇我們 W+K 全球創意總監 John Jay，這次日本之旅真是驚喜不斷。 We even ran into our Global ECD John Jay! What an amazing trip!

這次參展感動很深，大會安排和工作人員的認真準備可以看出日本人對任何事盡善盡美的追求。還有他們的熱情款待，尤其感激。交流中發現原來我們生活中擁有很多與日本朋友一樣的共通之處，如漫畫、電玩、電視、電影、品牌、設計等…所以大家話題源源不絕。而他們想到中國最快會聯想到熊貓和麻婆豆腐，高興是他們都認為日本文化很多都是源自中國，而他們更想了解現在的中國，希望這次展覽為能為日本朋友了解現代中國貢獻出小小的一步。
Attending this exhibition has inspired me deeply. Japanese’s pursuit of perfection culture has fully expressed through the flawless arrangement and earnest preparation from the staffs. I am very gracious for their hospitality. From our conversation, I figured that my Japanese friends and I do share plenty of interests, such as comic, video games, movies, brands, design and etc. When they think of China, they immediately associate it with panda and Mapo Tofu. They also think that a lot of Japanese culture is originated from China and they are desperate to understand more about the present China. Hopefully, this exhibition contributes to help our Japanese friends to learn more about modern China.
